A special community-led study by Mia Cosco, Dr. Molly Maloof and Psychedelic Salons. To join, download the app using the buttons below.👥 Status: Recruiting
⏰ Time Commitment: 6 minutes to start, then 12 minutes per month, up to 3 months
📋 Study Type: Observational, naturalistic study
Mia Cosco, Dr. Molly Maloof, and Instagram psychedelic community Psychedelic Salons invite you to take part in a study investigating the potential effects of ketamine, MDMA, or psychedelics on menstrual cycle-related and premenstrual dysphoric disorder symptoms.
According to the Journal of Reproductive Medicine, over 90% of those who menstruate experience physical or emotional premenstrual symptoms (PMS) such as cramps, bloating or moodiness. Some of these symptoms are mild, while some are serious enough to cause disruptions to life. Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), a condition that affects 6 million people worldwide, causes extreme mood shifts that are said to be correlated to hormonal change, however, the exact cause of this condition remains unclear.
This study's main objective is to investigate PMS and PMDD-related symptoms and explore if and how a range of substances like ketamine, MDMA, psychedelics, alcohol, coffee and activities like exercise and meditation affect these symptoms. The goal is to identify patterns in data that may help inform future therapies and treatments.
Participants will be asked to track their menstrual cycle, its related symptoms and substance use over the course of three months. If you are menstruating and the age of 18 or above, we invite you to take part in this study that will benefit folks who menstruate all over the world and empower you with in-depth knowledge of your menstrual health.
We are living in a psychedelic Renaissance.
