We are conducting a global survey of your attitudes and beliefs towards psychedelics, whether you have never tried a psychedelic, or you use them regularly. Participation is anonymous.
We are dedicated to helping end the global mental health crisis.
While psychedelics hold promise as breakthrough treatments for mental health conditions, much remains to be learned before we can unlock this potential.
The goal of our study is to learn more about society’s attitudes and beliefs towards the use of psychedelics. We are looking for study participants who have never tried psychedelics, who use psychedelics regularly, and everyone in-between. Your participation is completely anonymous.
Data from the study will provide us with an improved understanding of your opinions and possible concerns about using psychedelics for mental health conditions. These insights may help ensure future psychedelic therapies can be accessible to the largest number of people.

Study Introduction
Thank you for your interest in the Attitudes Towards Psychedelics Study. Participation will involve filling out a survey on the Quantified Citizen app that will take about 10 minutes.
Purpose of this Study
The goal of this study is to learn more about your previous experiences and current attitudes towards the use of psychedelics, with a focus on low or microdoses, whether you have never used a psychedelic or you use psychedelics regularly.
The researchers conducting this survey do not advocate or promote psychedelic drug use. The aim of this research is to learn from people who already use these drugs and to understand the attitudes and mindset of those who are not using or familiar with these drugs.
Who is conducting and funding this study?
This research is led by Diamond Therapeutics, a Canadian pharmaceutical company investigating the role of low doses of psilocybin and LSD on mental health. Funding for this survey is provided by Diamond Therapeutics in collaboration with the Ontario Brain Institute. The Principal Investigator for this study is Rhea Mehta, Ph.D.
Inclusion Criteria
You are invited to participate in this survey if you fulfil the criteria listed below:
1) You are at least 18 years old.
2) You read, understand, and write English fluently.
Study Details
Participation will involve filling out a survey on the Quantified Citizen app that will take about 10 minutes. You will not be required to enter any identifying information, including email address, name, birthdate, phone number in order to complete the survey. If you meet the survey inclusion criteria and agree to participate, you will be asked to provide some information on your demographics and your personality profile in addition to the survey itself. Please note completion of any of the questions is completely optional. At the end of the survey, you will be asked if you would like to visit Diamond’s website or Twitter account to sign up for future updates. The decision is yours.
What kind of information will I be providing?
If you have previously used psychedelics, the survey will collect information about the characteristics of your experience with psychedelics (type, dosage, regimen, quality of impact), if any, as well as information on your health condition(s), medication history, and general attitudes towards the use of psychedelics, where relevant, with a focus on low or microdoses. If you are a non-user, the survey will collect information about your attitudes and possible concerns about the use of psychedelics for mental health. You will also be asked optional questions about your demographics (e.g. age, sex, ethnicity) and personality profile.
Risks/Discomforts
You may get bored or fatigued while completing the survey. Please note it is not required that you answer questions you do not feel comfortable answering. If you have experienced a previous intense or poor psychedelic experience, there is also a risk that you momentarily re-live the experience or experience a negative emotion when answering related questions.
Benefits
There is no direct benefit to you in this survey. Responses from this survey could help advance Diamond’s research and development efforts as well as help evolve our collective understanding of the potential impact of psychedelic based treatments on mental health and healing.
Compensation
There is no compensation for participation in this survey.
What if I decide to stop participating?
Your participation in this survey is 100% voluntary. Even after you provide consent, you may stop participating at any time. If you stop early, your responses up to that point will be used in our analysis. At any time during the survey you will be able to contact the study team to request that your data be removed from the survey.
Confidentiality
Diamond will not be collecting your personal information or email address for participation in this anonymous survey. Some questions have a “free text” style answer box. Please try to avoid typing any identifying information (e.g. your name, contact information, job title, etc) in these fields. If you do provide specific identifying information, we will delete your responses to protect your confidentiality. During and after the survey, your anonymous responses will be reviewed and analyzed by the Diamond research team. The survey data will be encrypted and stored in the Quantified Citizen secure database during the survey, and then securely transferred to Diamond’s privacy-enabled database hosted by Amazon Web Services where it will be stored indefinitely. To further protect the confidentiality of participants, the results of this survey will be presented in aggregate. If at the end of the survey you decide to sign up for Diamond Therapeutics’ mailing list, we will only email you with general company activity updates.
What will become of the results of this study?
Diamond intends to use the results of this survey to inform and advance our internal research and development of low dose psilocybin and LSD for mental health. Our study insights may help ensure that psychedelic treatments in development will be accessible to broad patient cohorts with varying backgrounds and beliefs.
HIPAA / PIPEDA Disclosure
Any information we collect about you in this survey will be anonymized and aggregated during analysis. Diamond’s research team and clinical advisors who need to make sure the survey is being done correctly will see the information. Diamond may need to send your anonymous information to people outside of Diamond (for example, an accredited ethics review board or government groups like Health Canada or the Food and Drug Administration) who need to make sure the survey is being done correctly. These people will use your anonymous information for the sole purpose of the survey.
